Your Post Teeth Whitening Treatment Aftercare Guide

No eating or drinking for 3 hours post-treatment (except water). We recommend consuming a lot of water immediately following your treatment as this rehydrates your teeth so that they can continue processing to their whitest shade.

After your treatment your teeth may be streaky and/or patchy, this is normal and can be evened out with the use of your WHITEOLOGY TAKE HOME KIT provided to you.

If you experience any tenderness or discomfort in your gums or if you come up in any ulcers or blisters, unfortunately this is normal and can be treated, we recommend using Bonjela for adults (available at most chemists/ supermarkets). Everyone responds differently to the treatment, so you may or may not experience this. For any pain, sensitivity or “zingers” which feels like a zap or electric shock up your teeth this is also normal. If one or 2 occur, we recommend taking a painkiller to stop it in its tracks! Nothing to be worried about, it’s very manageable if it even occurs at all! Your aftercare pack with contain everything you need to maintain your results until your next treatment with us.

Aftercare Pack contains:

  • Our Gold Take-home Pen that should be applied to your teeth immediately after your treatment every 30 minutes for 3 hours that you are not eating and then twice daily (morning and night) after brushing your teeth for 3 days. If you feel pain/ discomfort in your teeth or gums, do not use the gold take-home pen.
  • 2 x finger brushes to replace your tooth brush the night of and morning after your treatment. When resuming your usual tooth brushing, please brush lightly to reduce any risk of causing pain or discomfort. If your gums bleed slightly, this is normal and does commonly occur.
  • Vitamin E swab to be applied to your lips and gums once daily and disposed of immediately after use. This is to restore hydration to your mouth post treatment.

White Diet (First 72 Hours)

For the first 72 hours after your teeth whitening treatment, we recommend following a “white diet.” During this time, your teeth can be slightly more porous and more likely to absorb colour from foods and drinks.

The white diet simply means avoiding anything that could stain a white t-shirt. Stick to foods that are white, beige, or very light in colour, as well as water-based greens.

Safe options can include foods like chicken, plain pasta, rice, coleslaw, lettuce, and drinks such as water or coconut water.

During this time, it’s best to avoid darker foods and drinks such as coffee, matcha, red wine, steak, red meats, and anything heavily coloured that could stain the teeth.

Following the white diet helps protect your results and allows your teeth to lock in the brightest possible shade after your treatment.

We highly recommend treatment to be followed up with our WHITEOLOGY top-up treatment 4-6 weeks post treatment to maintain your desirable whitest smile long-term.
